Easy Mango Chia Pudding for Kids: Healthy Snack or Breakfast - Simple, Creamy, and Fun

Prep Time 10 minutes
Total Time 10 minutes
Servings: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 cup ripe mango, pureed (fresh or thawed frozen)
  • 1 1/2 cups milk of choice (dairy, almond, oat, or coconut milk)
  • 1/2 cup chia seeds
  • 1–2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (optional, adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional toppings: diced mango, shredded coconut, granola, yogurt, or a squeeze of lime

Method

  1. Make the mango base: Blend mango until smooth. If you don’t have a blender, mash it well with a fork until mostly smooth.
  2. Stir the liquids: In a mixing bowl or large jar, combine the milk, mango puree, vanilla, sweetener (if using), and a pinch of salt. Whisk until it looks even and creamy.
  3. Add chia seeds: Sprinkle in the chia seeds while whisking to prevent clumps. Keep whisking for 30–45 seconds until evenly distributed.
  4. Rest and re-stir: Let the mixture sit for 10 minutes, then whisk again. This second stir helps the chia absorb liquid evenly.
  5. Chill: Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for the best texture. It should thicken to a pudding-like consistency.
  6. Serve: Give it a quick stir. Spoon into bowls or small jars and top with diced mango, coconut, or a dollop of yogurt.
